Classroom Educator Level Course

The 35-hour OGA Classroom Educator Level course is designed for classroom teachers who want to incorporate key elements of OG such as, phonics, language structure, and multisensory strategies into everyday teaching. It introduces the principles of the OGA approach and focuses on applying them within a classroom setting. Teachers learn how to adapt lessons for small groups who need extra support.

2

Associate
Level Course

A 70-hour OGA Associate Level course prepares educators to teach struggling readers, including those with dyslexia, in small-group or one-on-one settings. It covers the structure and history of English, with emphasis on phonology, orthography, and morphology, while also addressing writing, vocabulary, comprehension, and grammar. Participants learn to use assessments to guide instruction and develop flexible Orton-Gillingham lesson plans.

3

Orton-Gillingham Workshops

One-hour (live and pre-recorded) workshops are designed to deepen and refine the skills of current Orton-Gillingham practitioners. These focused, efficient sessions are ideal for teachers seeking meaningful professional development and growth within a manageable time frame.

*In order to attain any level of certification through the Orton-Gillingham Academy, a practicum must be successfully completed.
Practicums and mentorship are available.
